VISITING THE GIRAFFE CENTRE, NAIROBI KENYA/ WHAT TO DO THIS WEEKEND

This weekend, I got a little time to spare and guess what! I decided to pop in along to the Girraffe Centre. This place has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember and having the time to finally tick it off was a dream come true. The Girraffe centre is a very popular tourist attraction, reading reviews about it and the countless experiences of almost everyone posting selfies made me feel like I was the only one left out on this experience. So on Saturday morning we decided to visit the Girrafe Centre, the skies were blue and unlike the past few days this of this month which have literally felt like July, the morning was warm and sunny.Perfect weather to do this.So I tagged along one of my friend and we were ready to go. Upon entering, you are given a handful of pellets to feed the girrafe, it's a perfect opportunity to get upclose and person with these African beauties.
Looking into their gorgeous deep brown eyes, framed by fluffy eyelashes, theres no doubt there is something special about this adorable giraffes. The centre is a home to the endangered Rothschild's Giraffe, of which there are less than 750 estimated remaining in the wild.
What started as a rehabilitation centre now plays a significant role in educating Kenyan youths of the importance of wildlife conservation.
As we proceeded, the guide who handed us a shell of pellets gave us a quick brief about the activity and went ahead to demaonstrate how to feed them, you basically hold a pellet between your fingers and let the giraffe pick it up with their tongue.
The feeding session take basically like 30 minute, so we had time to go around and read more about the giraffe in the small exhibition area and also enjoyed passing time at the cafeteria which is inside the centre. We were also guided to trails which features several animals like birds, giraffes and wathogs too, we also encountered several monkeys swinging from tree to tree. We had a wonderful time visiting this places and would definately recomment it to anyione who have never had the time to go there. It's definately worth the visit. Perfect way to spend the weekend.
Finally, if you are planning to visit anytime soon, here are a few tips; 1.The Girafe centre main activity is just feeding and petting the Giraffe, there is no much activity at the cente so it might take you 20-30 minutes to do that. Kissing the girrafe has currently been stopped, to reduce the risk of infections and also something to with Covid. 2.The best time to visit would be early morning, we went there at around 1pm and the places was crowded. So arriving early might give you an oppotunity to have the place to yourself.

 That's all for today!
Thank you for stopping by .✌️💞💞
