7 WAYS TO READ AND UNDERSTAND A NOVEL

1.Consider what's your favorites:Reading a novel doesn't necessarily mean picking any of them and reading.Anyone can read any type of novel though you also need to know which are your favorite ones.There are different types of novels,Fiction,Non-Fiction,Romance,Thrillers,Fantasy e.t.c  therefore you need to recognize the one that you enjoy the most.

2.Block out any distraction:One of my favorite thing to day on a day is reading a novel and sometimes the environment that we are in might not favor our interest to read our best novels.Noisy or destructive environment might hinder us from allowing the novel to sink in or even concentrate and even understand,mainly because reading a good novels requires you to grasp each an every single sentence that has been put into it.
{i}To enjoy a novel you need to be away from any human activity .
{ii}You should also need to avoid music that has lots of lyrics in it .

3.Set time:Giving yourself time like a maximum of 30 minutes or reading one chapter a day.This is quite essential for you to have time to understand what the writer is trying to say.Make sure you don't overwhelm you brain with too much reading as you might not end up enjoying it.

4.Have a reading buddy:Reading is more fun when you have a friend who has the same interest in reading,you can plan to read and discuss about the novel when you are done reading or discuss and what you both have understood at the end of every chapter.

5.Write a summary:At the end of each an every chapter write a summary and look back to see what changed or if there is another character that has been brought in and so on, also don't forget to note the vocabularies that you din't comprehend,make sure you check their meaning out before you continue to the next chapter.This gives you a proper understanding of the story.

6.Apply the knowledge:Reading enhances your grammar both speaking and writing therefore you need to apply what you have learnt in your everyday assignment or reports make sure whenever you're giving a speech you can quote a book or put a vocabulary that you just learnt this make you appear more learned and intelligent.

7.Imagine:When you are done reading try to memorize everything you have learnt,ask yourself questions like was the book enjoyable enough?You can also try to read another novel close or similar to the one that you have learnt and see the difference.
