HOW TO PREPARE FOR A MARATHON/ 5 SIMPLE STEPS

Reading this blog, chances are that you're soon running a marathon or you're planning to run a marathon in future. Personally, I make it my goal every year to run as many marathons as possible, I like to physically challenge myself, and marathons are one great thing that is always looking forward to. Therefore preparing for it requires internal toughness and dedication and determination to consistently train for it.
Here are some simple steps that I want to share with you to help you prepare for a marathon.
Before we proceed, when I first decided to compete for my first marathon, I was a bit sceptical about whether I will complete the 10km I had registered for.
I would say it was challenging but at the end of the day it felt so fulfilling and rewarding, I've always looked forward to more marathons, I've done more than 7km so far and earlier this, I challenged myself with a Half Marathon, it was a great challenge  I would say.
Let's get into those simple steps, shall we?

1.Have enough time to prepare
Always make sure you have enough preparation before the marathon. Allowing yourself to have enough time to prepare is something that i would recommend, so as to keep you fit and in the right place.
2.Schedule and Pay early
This pushes you to keep your mind and body ready, it also makes you start preparing early as possible,  also you will won't schedule anything else on that day.

3.Have a rest day
As much as you're doing your training it's important to pay attention to those rest days, you need them. You should never have to push yourself hard,  it can lead to injury or you feeling weak during a marathon.
4.Hydrate
Stay properly hydrated in your training, water is really significant.

5.Have comfortable Running gear
Have your comfortable shoe, sock running belt ready. Buy shoes that are specifically meant for running and besides that make sure it fits properly. You can also wear the shoes that you have trained on with before. Make sure your socks are good to go as well as your running belt, it shouldn't be tight or loose,  all that to make your running smooth and fun.
